Rebecca, by Daphne Du Maurier.
This book is on "the list." I kept checking it and unchecking it. I've seen the Hitchcock movie many times, and I thought I'd read the book years ago, but not positive if I was confusing the book and movie. So I saw it on a table in Barnes & Noble, and decided to pick it up and read it, just to keep myself honest. I thought I'd enjoy it, even if I'd read it before. And I did. And I'm still not sure if I've read it before. The movie follows the book so closely that I just couldn't be sure.
I thought it would be sort of trashy, but it was actually quite good.
The Red Queen by Margaret Drabble next. Maybe with Beloved by Toni Morrison at the same time. One for home, one for the office.
